The Live Well Collaborative and the Osher-Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) collaborate once a month to conceptualize new product and service opportunities around various topics. In March 2014, the LWC staff met with 12 OLLI participants to understand their home cleaning needs. The two-hour session yielded insights from an ideation exercise that revealed opportunity spaces for further exploration.
These home cleaners consider new ways of managing dust and preventing residual build-up throughout the home.
Participants discussed their need to minimize the time of cleaning, the inconvenience of plugs, and the need for cordless options.
Their need for more adaptable and all purpose devices leads to ideas around multi-faceted options to accomplish their cleaning goals.
Kitchen and Bathroom
Participants share their challenges with cleaning high traffic areas such as the kitchen and bathrooms. They want their cleaning routine to be a one step process and seek products that are productive in keeping spaces from getting dirty.
